Ladies and gentlemen - in the usual way, Bapak says ladies and gentlemen, children - tonight Bapak does not wish to speak about other things; instead it is necessary for Bapak to explain the fruit and results of the training ( latihan ) you receive and follow.
The movements you receive in the latihan are the beginning of the resurrection, that is, the coming back to life, of your human soul ( jiwa ). Your human soul has been asleep for a long time -Bapak takes the most recent stretch of the road - since you were born on this earth until now you are old people, or young people.
Why is this? It is because, since you were born on this earth, this body has been moved and awakened by desire through your hearing, seeing, smelling, speaking, hand gesturing, and so on. So the movements you have made and the awakening you have experienced in life were not from the human soul, but entirely from desires moved by a non-human content or soul. There are reasons for this, which Bapak needs to explain later. Certainly, you will acknowledge, children, the mistakes you have experienced, and you will become aware of them.
To illustrate, Bapak will take marriage as an example. Perhaps there are many people who are not yet and cannot be aware of whether in marriage and the union of man and wife, the wanting, the wish of someone to marry or be united is moved or awakened by the human soul, or by a subhuman soul. In general, people's wish to marry, or a man's love for a woman and a woman's love for a man, is only from the will, only from passion, without their knowing who moves the heart of that will and passion.
Consequently, when, in their marriage, they have a child, it is still a question as to whether, inside, the child is filled with a human soul, or a subhuman soul because of the parents' mistakes in the union of man and wife. Such mistakes are made, not willfully, but unwittingly, and have been passed on continuously from generation to generation. Until finally, now, the natures of the majority of people, although perfectly human in outward form, are filled with a soul whose strength derives from one of the subhuman natures or forces.
So, someone whose inner content or soul is not a human soul, but - Bapak says, for example - an animal, plant or material soul, certainly will not understand, will not feel, will not be aware, because the instruments for awareness are worked and influenced by the forces that are within him. As for the nature of his wanting, the nature of his thought: even though he has a good mind and a good heart, because he has received good advice, within him, what is inside him and fills his human self is not a perfect human being. So he will not comprehend, he will not be aware that what he wants is not from the human soul but from an animal soul or from a soul that is below the human soul. The heart, feelings, brain or thinking mind, or the nature of that human being, are worked and used by a subhuman soul. So naturally, the person will aim for results that are in the interest of that subhuman force, not in the interest of the perfect human soul.
Many human beings try to find a way to be able to receive the life contact from God. The difficulty in finding the contact with God is not the fault of the human being, but because the human instruments and members are controlled, influenced and filled by a force that is other than human. And, with this wrong nature of his, it is impossible for a human being to find the right way, or the life contact from God, unless he can come upon a gift from God, or unless God, by His will, gives to him. Then his human soul is awakened spontaneously, without his intention, within his inner self, or within his inner feeling.
Clearly, without God's help, people, whose nature in general is wrong, cannot possibly find the right way. It is impossible for their human soul to get back to its rightful place, to the state where it can finally clean all the mistakes that are within the self, or within the body.
An example - which existed and happened, even though it is told in stories - is Nabi Isa, Jesus. The Prophet Jesus is called roh Allah ( Spirit of God ). Roh ( spirit ) is son, but not son like a person has a son; son of Allah means he was made because of God's will. Why does Bapak say Jesus was not God's son in the ordinary human sense? Because God has no wife, and God is neither male nor female.
God wills something through creation; by His will, it comes to be. So Jesus - conveyed in the stories and in his life story by the words 'son of Allah' - was willed by God into being, so that he should give advice and guidance to mankind, because people at that time were in chaos and confusion, in a state that was altogether not good. So Jesus’ spirit and nature are said to have been the holy spirit, meaning the perfect human spirit that was within his being, so that the Prophet Jesus, and all the members of his body, was moved and used by his human soul, which was close to the One God.
And then we are told what the Prophet Jesus did and experienced. He spoke, advising people that they should behave well and have a good character, giving more weight to God than to their own souls and the world. The Prophet Jesus himself was an example. His closeness to God and love for God was more than for the world, more than for his own self. Hence, in the stories it is symbolized that the soul of the Prophet Jesus gave up his own self to be crucified, to be tortured by his fellow human beings, because of his surrender to God.
This is an example for mankind: that human beings really may be able to surrender their inner feeling and exalt - by exalt, Bapak means uphold - God's power higher than their own selves, so that in the end they may receive a gift from God. Then they can be awakened through their human soul, which finally can correct and clean all the faults that are within our being.
Such work is very heavy indeed. This was exemplified by the Prophet Jesus himself. We read in the stories how he suffered in his life, solely to bring himself near to God. Many people cried out against him, many people denounced him and reviled him, saying this and that, and many wronged him, until finally he was tortured, because he kept himself nearer to God than to human beings.
As they say, nobility and suffering are not attained just like that, at whim. Suffering, lowliness and humiliation - not real humiliation, but enough to be called suffering - are requirements for attaining nobility and stature in human life. They are also requirements for a human being to be near God's power. So for us, or for you children, who have received this training ( latihan ), in truth your human soul is being awakened so that it can become a tool or condition that can clean you of all the faults you have had, or which have been there within the inner self for generations, and are within your own inner self. Bapak does not compare your situation, children, with the Prophet Jesus or the other prophets; no. The prophets were like a prelude, for they were the first human beings to become examples for people who have come later. The latihan can possibly become a means for us to find the right way, as followed and received by the prophets in times past.
Now, for you, children, it is not just a possibility; you are certain to experience it. For in receiving this training, sometimes you will feel unpleasant, sad feelings, like someone who is sick. It is necessary to experience and accept this, because, indeed, this is the nature of the purification process conducted by the human soul within the self of each one of you.
Such feelings or states of the inner feeling are not in the nature of illness; in fact, they restore you to a good condition. Your former wrong state really did occur and was indeed wrong, and you did not feel unwell, you felt just fine. Consequently, when that state is being restored to its true condition, at that time a shift, a change, a move is felt or occurs. Of course, such a state brings about a resultant sickness and unpleasantness in the inner feeling. So the health and strength of people before this ( sickness ), or of people in general who say they are healthy and physically fit, is obtained, not from the perfect human being, but from the desires, which are filled with subhuman forces. Moreover, in modern times, there are even people whose strength is filled by ( the force of ) a monkey, or an animal, or all kinds of drugs. So the strength that is within the self of these human beings has its origin, not from the perfect human force, but from below the perfect human force.
In your case, children, states like that are now beginning to be broken down, beginning to be restored, beginning to be cleaned and brought back from a wrong condition to the right one, from a state that is dirty to one that is pure and clean. So this training that you receive and do is really like a restorative, a cleansing within the self, so that, after the inner feeling is cleaned of mistakes, it can make the inner feeling or soul healthy and fit for receiving the word of God and His guidance. So, children, you can all receive something beyond the thinking mind, beyond the will, in short, beyond human knowledge.
It is inappropriate now and may be inappropriate for quite some time to ask, 'What is the meaning of this latihan?' and, 'How should I face God so that I can see God and His power?' It would be out of place if Bapak were to answer, and you, children, could not understand it, before your whole inner feeling is cleaned from faults, and before the preparations have been made within your human soul. Later, when you are ready, children, the desire to know something will not arise or exist in your heart; for you will always receive and know what is happening and how God gives to you.
Bapak feels it is not necessary to elaborate upon this now, because one or two nights is not enough. This explanation may require several nights. What is necessary now is that Bapak gives you a sample, so that you yourselves can receive, children, what the true state is in the latihan that you receive. Even though, at this time, you are not yet able to receive it properly or one hundred percent, Bapak will give you a taste, children, so that you can all feel something.
