Gentlemen, tonight Bapak would like to talk about the meaning of the training ( latihan ) we have received. Bapak s explanation will be from the spiritual point of view, because the latihan you all receive - even though there are some among you who do not yet receive strongly - is truly a way of worshipping the One God.

Why does Bapak say this? It's because the movement you have all received is awakened or aroused by the power of the One God, which breaks through your desires and your thinking. The proof of this is that you can all receive and follow this movement, whenever the receiving is not disturbed by your thinking. So really, what is received and experienced in the latihan is not caused by your mind or by the will of your heart.

That is why Bapak says that the latihan you have received is truly the worship of the One God, because it is awakened by the will of the One God himself. This is not the same as when you worship from your own heart and from your own will, when only your heart and mind ask forgiveness and blessings from God, for the human mind and human desires cannot overcome ( the obstacles to ) and reach God.

Because of this there are many who, wanting to receive and carry out true worship of God, distance themselves from the crowds, to be alone in lonely places, in the mountains and in the forest, and so on. They do this because they consider that, in such circumstances, they can set aside and eliminate the pressure of worldly passions, in order that - so they believe - they can feel quiet in their inner feeling, and may receive a gift or blessing from God. So it is clear that when they visit lonely places, abandoning the busy multitudes and quieting their inner feelings, they do this for no other reason than the hope of receiving the blessings of God from outside their passions and their thinking.

And if they can receive the gift of God, this gift is none other than what you have received in the latihan. So it is clear that what you all receive in the latihan is really the same as the fruit of the efforts of those who for years and years struggled to get something like this. It is therefore really joyful and fortunate for you that in a normal situation, in a period of transition in your lives, for example, and when you are still together with your wife and children, still living in society, you can nonetheless receive this gift of God.

What you have received in the training ( latihan ) is a gift of God beyond thought and feeling, as Bapak said earlier - it is really a bridge between man and God. And by it you can ascend until finally you reach the level you need for your life. You all know that every skill, every exercise, begins at a low level, starting with something small; but it is certain that, eventually, what you have already received will become wider and wider. Consequently Bapak hopes that you will not feel anxious or disappointed, because although up to now you can't see any evidence to boast of, the training, and the understanding that goes with the training, is beginning to work, and beginning to grow.

You should all be aware that the training you have received, as Bapak said earlier, could be likened to a course of instruction given exclusively by God Himself, so that in the training you receive guidance and direction from the power of God. Indeed, only God Himself shows to man the path that leads to God. In receiving this instruction from God it is also necessary that, in carrying out the training, you should always have in your hearts a feeling of patience, faith, submission and sincerity towards the greatness of God. This is the main requirement, and it can become a means or weapon to clear your path to God.

In addition to what Bapak has already said concerning the way to God, let us not forget that, by this means, your physical body, from the coarse to the fine, will gradually improve, become clean, so that you can easily find the right way to what you need in your lives. So Bapak suggests and Bapak hopes that you won't think deeply about what you receive in the training ( latihan ), like someone who is learning an ordinary skill, because this is not something that should be learned with the mind, but is only obtained and received when your mind, thoughts and feelings are clean.

This is in keeping with the advice of the prophets, written and recorded in their holy books, that the power of God cannot be interfered with, and cannot be known, by mankind. It was considered something extraordinary and miraculous that such men could receive a gift or a revelation from God, because most of them were unlearned and did not go to school like others, and yet they were able to receive God's guidance, and could transmit this guidance to mankind up to the present time.

Such is the power of God, the will of God, the way, beyond man's comprehension, that God chooses and gives to mankind. And this can also be an example for you all, that the gift of God, or the ability that comes from God, cannot be sought by the mind of man, neither by man's intelligence nor by man's cleverness. Rather, it can only be received - or there is a great possibility that it can be received - when man can Clean his inner feeling, his heart and mind, and can calm his passions ( nafsu ).

What Bapak is saying is very much in keeping with the holy books that have been bequeathed to us by the messengers and prophets of God, who lived many years ago. Therefore, those of you who have read the Bible, those of you who have read the Quran, and those who have read the other holy books, can perceive and consider what Bapak is saying. It will be even better when you can receive for yourselves whether what Bapak is saying is true or not.

Because of this, Bapak again hopes that you will not become disappointed and feel that you cannot really receive yet, resulting in an urge to accelerate your receiving and your understanding. A heart or inner feeling that is in a hurry to know, to understand, will not increase your receiving or your ability, but will, on the contrary, disturb your inner feeling, with the result that you will not experience, or you will suffer a delay in, the receiving in the latihan that you are practicing.

Bapak would like to continue his clarification of the spiritual way. The journey on the spiritual path - or what takes place in the training ( latihan ) you have received, and will receive - begins from the coarse body. What begins to be exercised first is the coarse physical body. This coarse body is not just what can be seen externally, because what is inside it can also be included in the coarse body. This begins to be exercised until the whole of this body becomes alive. The movement or movements that are felt, and which appear to be only movements, actually clean the inner self.

Therefore, as some of you have already been able to receive, the movements you receive lessen the suffering that you really used to feel inside. This will continue until all your body - the whole of you, all the parts of your body that up to now have felt unwell and not yet healthy - will through these movements become healthy, healthy in the true sense of clean and pure. And from that stage it goes deeper and wider, even as far as the body of the feelings that nest in the secret place of man.

The journey from the beginning to this second stage takes an unspecified time, and it all depends on your inner strength and capacity. Because of this, there can be no forcing in the training ( latihan ) in order to obtain and receive quickly, because it does all depend on your inner strength and capacity. And we should also remember that there are motives and states that surround the feeling of man and of which we are not aware, namely the forces lower than man, which hinder us in our journey to the true human state. And because these obstacles exist, the process of inner purification, even though it comes from the power of God, needs time, the length of which, as Bapak said, cannot be determined.

And in the latihan you receive, you have already experienced, more or less, the obstacles that Bapak mentioned, in the form of certain movements, certain behavior, which you do not understand in receiving in the way you do. But Bapak is able to know that this is the effect of the pressure of forces that have long been embedded in man's inner feeling.

Behavior manifesting in this way is really necessary and advantageous for all of you, because through it these forces will disappear from your inner feeling. And the disappearance of the influence of these forces lower than man, manifested in the latihan you have received, will eventually lead to your receiving, in the latihan, guidance from the Great Life, guidance arranged by God.

Bapak can compare this situation to that of a child who eventually grows up to adulthood. Bapak can say that you are now like children who have only just learned to cry, laugh, shout, walk and spin around. It is not the time for you to learn or to think, because very young children do not yet have the capacity to think about anything. However, of their own accord, small children get bigger and bigger and bigger, until finally they are adults and can think about what is happening to them. That is the similarity between the soul ( jiwa ) and the ordinary way of things.

The human soul that is present in all of you still has, to put it in ordinary words, the nature of a young child. However, as Bapak has just said, you will eventually become aware for yourselves of what is taking place within you, when you grow up in your human soul.

Now is not yet the time to think about the meaning of what is taking place in the latihan, because your soul is not yet able to be aware of what has been received. If you force yourselves to try to think about what you receive in the training ( latihan ), it is very likely that your thoughts and inner feeling will become chaotic.

So it is clear that what takes place in the training - again, as Bapak has said - what is received is a spiritual exercise guided by the One God. It cannot be sought by the mind, passions or ordinary human understanding, but can only be received by a human being who has been purified, from the coarse to the fine, beginning with the coarse body and progressing to the body of feelings, the body of understanding, and the body of self awareness.

Of course, the way to God or the spiritual journey, or man's worship of God, is guided only by God Himself. And to increase his store of the everyday cleverness that circulates in this world, man must certainly put his desires, mind and feelings to work. So there are in reality two currents, or two paths, within you. One goes in the direction of worldly happiness, to make your life in this world content, since only the wisdom and cleverness of man can, and should, accomplish the well-being of this world. But only God himself can direct man along the way to God, the channel that leads to the greatness of God. So, in reality, Bapak says - and as you yourselves have experienced in the latihan you receive- there are specific conditions that can be applied to your soul.

So, clearly, you are able to feel that what you receive in the training ( latihan ) is beyond your estimation, beyond your thinking, beyond your consideration. For example, those of you who receive to walk in the training can feel, 'I'm not walking because I want to, but, hey, I'm walking.' So it is clear that, as Bapak said earlier, even while walking, man can really receive guidance from the soul ( jiwa ) on how to walk. And when you receive to wave your hands around in the training, those of you who can do so will feel, 'Hey, I'm not waving my hands deliberately, but I'm still waving my hands.' This is actually guidance from the soul on how to wave your hands.

It is the same with the other parts of your body. When you receive the training and are exercised, you will be able to move your eyes in a way of seeing that is spontaneous, and so on, as far as your hearts and minds, until thoughts arise that are beyond anything that you have ever thought before.

The power of God gives man true understanding that begins, or is given, from inside all that is inside. Bapak has said that the power of God is inside all that is inside and outside all that is outside, before all that goes before and after all that comes after. God in His power cannot be overtaken by the wisdom or cleverness of man. For man's cleverness, and his life and soul, are always enveloped from inside and from outside. That is why Bapak said that the way to God cannot be arranged or sought out by the cleverness of man's mind. Man will be able to understand for himself when God wills it, and when God has awakened his understanding, because God's power is within everything.

When man was created long ago, the use and meaning of each part of the body was written, and power was given to each of them, so that man's legs, for example, are made for walking, and can walk automatically, by themselves, without a person imitating others. It is the same with other parts of the body. You can see this for yourselves, in the way man makes various objects, how the parts of these objects are provided with instructions; and the nature of these articles will show what they are to be used for. By looking at this ashtray, for example, you can guess that it is for putting cigarettes on. It is the same with what is inside a human being. Each part of your body will show its individual function and what it needs for its life.

This is Bapak's brief explanation about the spiritual path. 'Bapak will now continue and talk about the next level, the second level, which is the level of the feelings nesting in the secret place of man. Naturally, because it ( the secret place of man ) moves, and because, at this level, the forces residing there, and stimulating, and influencing are being cleaned and made healthy, it can be compared to the state of animals freed from their cage, thronging in full pursuit of their prey. So is it felt in the feelings that nest in men's secret part - a tremendous urge is felt, a tremendous desire to have intercourse or mate with a woman.

Bapak hopes it won't be like that, and that you can restrain it with a feeling of patience, surrender and faith in God, so that the longing that is aroused by the influence of forces below the human being can disappear completely. And then, eventually, something out of the ordinary will arise, because, although a man -especially a young man, but also one who is already old -sometimes sees a woman he likes and is attracted to, nevertheless, because the feelings that nest in the man's secret part have become clean, it ( what was mentioned above ) will not happen.

This is because the nature of this secret place itself is alive and can be aware of its own function and needs by itself, then, however strong your urge, what you desire cannot happen. But when it is willed from what is real, from the soul ( jiwa ), even when your heart does not wish it, movement will arise by itself. So each part of your body will be able to measure its own life and its own strength.

This is the way God guides mankind towards honesty in behavior and honesty in action. You will not need advice from other people because this honesty will be created and will exist within your own nature. Take your eyes, for example. Your eyes are instruments for seeing. When your eyes have been cleansed, they will only function when directed by the human force, to see what is necessary, and will not cause problems for you.

Why is it that men - and I'm not referring just to you here, but to all men, for Bapak himself is also a man - when their eyes see a beautiful, attractive woman, especially when she is in motion, their Adam's apple, at the very least, goes up and down? Why? It's because in the eyes and the seeing of men a force is on the rampage, a force below the true human level - the animal force. For this reason it is necessary for mankind to find or strive for the right way, which really fits with the guidance of God, as you have received. Therefore, in your receiving in the latihan, you will pass through a continuous series of lessons from God, as Bapak has said.

This is Bapak's explanation about the training ( latihan ) you have received, first concerning the meaning of what takes place in the latihan and, second, about the desire for intercourse. Bapak hopes this explanation will help you to feel patient. This feeling of patience and trust in God in your hearts can also restrain you when you have an urge from the passions ( nafsu ) for intercourse.

It is true that in this life it has been determined that men and women should be together. Even so, you should look for a way that does not stray from the right path. Even though this is the tool for man to have intercourse or to have a child, for example, you should try to ensure, in doing it, that your child will really be a child from a perfect seed, and not a child that has been conceived because the union was stimulated and influenced by the passions ( nafsu ), resulting in a child who, although born with the appearance of a human being, does not inwardly possess a human soul ( jiwa ). This is actually brought about during the union between the man and the woman, when the man and the woman are hijacked by lower forces, which partake in what is happening. That is why there are many people who appear to be good but can still behave wrongly.

So this is Bapak's explanation about spiritual matters. Although it is not a long, expansive explanation, Bapak hopes it will satisfy you somewhat. When there is more time, Bapak will continue his explanation about spiritual matters.

And now it is time to test how and how far you have received what takes place in the latihan, so that by this testing those who have already received can obtain what is fitting, what is suitable for their receiving.

Please be as you are when you receive the latihan, but there is no need to stand or to walk, because the space is limited. It is enough just to sit and close your eyes.

I have eyes. Where are my eyes? Move, wherever you are!

I have ears. Where are my ears? Move, wherever you are! Stop.

I have a nose. Where is my nose?

Move, wherever you are! Stop.

Show if there are teeth there!

Stop. Were you able to receive, my sons?

For those who could receive, Bapak gives thanks to God. For those who couldn't, Bapak prays that it will happen soon; don't feel disappointed or left behind. As Bapak said earlier, if you have a feeling of being left behind you get further behind. Just be patient and accept, and you will later be able to receive for yourselves.

As Bapak stated earlier, the most important condition for spiritual progress is a feeling of faith, patience, trust and sincerity. That is why the Prophet Jesus was able to receive something from God that was beyond human comprehension, even though he was uneducated, and born in a stable. But because of the purity of his inner feeling, because of the faith in his heart, his patience and trust, he could receive from God. If you had only five or ten per cent of the nature of the Prophet Jesus you would very likely be able to receive a gift from God.

I have a head. Where is my head?

I have a neck. Where is my neck?

I have two hands. Where are my two hands?

I have a sexual organ. Where is my sexual organ?

Could you receive? Who was able to receive?

It is clear, my sons, that although you have one you still don't know it. So if for example it performs, it is not you who makes it perform. Who makes it perform?

Now when a child is born, you say 'my child'.

The angels ask, 'When did you make it?'

and, 'What did you make it with?' 'I don't know.' ( Laughter )

Such is the reality you will eventually obtain in the spiritual life, so that, in carrying out something that is really essential for human life, you will truly follow the will of your inner self, so that you are aware that I am the one who is performing this. Now it is your hearts that are performing. The heart is not aware of what or who is within. Now, when you perform, there may be, for example, a bull behind you that is doing it, without you knowing. ( Laughter )

Bapak ends the testing here for tonight. Bapak hopes you won't be disappointed. This is only a way of making or opening a path for you to really exercise with the feeling you had just now. Bapak says: be patient, have faith, trust and sincerity, so that your latihan will proceed smoothly. And you will eventually, without doubt, know and experience what Bapak did just now by way of testing.

And if during this testing you experienced mistakes you have made, don't feel burdened or anxious. Your progress in the spiritual ( kejiwaan ) world will also influence your condition, which is affected by mistakes you have made in your lives. Such is the generosity, the mercy of God towards mankind. If you obey God, God will always open the way for you. The meaning of obedience is to believe, absolutely, in the One God.

And so, again, I really ask your forgiveness. Bapak will not continue his explanation, because the inner instruments have stopped.
