Mama Rosie... The Big-hearted... Barbadoan Hotel Owner... Rescues Laura... "For Love..."!

Laura duly arrived... in Bridgetown... Barbados... late Friday afternoon... and had to wait till Monday morning... for the American Embassy... to open...!

And she immediately cabled Dr. Ruth White... to expect her arrival in Miami... shortly... exact date to follow... and to please inform her husband Mark...

Her talkative... friendly young taxicab driver... found out... that she was short of money... when her mouth suddenly Opened... and to her amazement... she Was Made to ask... whether there was a decent tourist hotel... where she could sing... for the tourists... to earn some money...!

And becoming very sympathetic... he promptly drove her... to his lady friend... Mama Rosie... a big-hearted... large of girth... buxom Barbadoan lady... who ran a tourist hotel... and was known... throughout the island... for her kindness... and generosity...!

So... the garrulous cabbie... told his lady friend... Mama Rosie... all about Laura's plight... and that she was on her way... to the USA... to reconcile... with her estranged husband...

Whereupon the lady... a die hard romantic... her large body swathed... in a colorful muu muu... patterned with huge... bright exotic... tropical flowers... and large tropical birds... gave her a great big... warm smile of welcome... and a great big hug...!

And wasting no time... taking Laura by her hand... Mama Rosie led her into the spacious... brightly decorated... combination of an indoors/outdoors... Visitors Lounge/Dining Area... facing the beautiful Caribbean Sea...

And in a loud... booming voice... Mama Rosie announced Laura's sorry dilemma... to everybody... many tourists... and islanders alike...!

And she unabashedly... passed a large straw hat... around the tables... announcing... in her lovely... quaintly charming... lilting Barbadoan/English accent...:

"LOVE must conquer over all... yes...? What does it matter... that the lovely lady... is short of money...?

Come... open up your hearts... and your wallets... give generously...!

Help to return the two lovers... to each other... help to bring a husband and wife... together...!"

And everybody... liking the look... of the exceptionally tall... auburn haired lady... beautifully dressed... standing shyly... next to buxom Mama Rosie... with her two suitcases... at her feet... became swept up in Rosie's hearty enthusiasm... and gave generously... into the large straw hat...!

All in all... about $400... was collected for Laura... and the big-hearted lady... laughing heartily... gave her a very nice room... on the house... "for love"... quickly summoning the bellboy... to take her suitcases upstairs... to her room... for her...!

Becoming very motherly... Mama Rosie... patting Laura's hand... bid her to go upstairs... and freshen up... then come downstairs again... for some dinner... "for love"...!

Laura... feeling so grateful... and deeply touched... by Mama Rosie's extreme kindness... offered to sing... for her hotel guests... that night... but Rosie waved her hand... laughing heartily... claiming that she could not possibly sing... to the accompaniment... of the regular steel band... which played very loudly...!

After freshening herself up... Laura... now very hungry... went downstairs... where Mama Rosie... was waiting for her...

And giving her another great big warm smile... and another great big hug... she promptly led her to a secluded table... in the corner... of the vast Visitors Lounge...

And on the way... Mama Rosie whispered to Laura... about her recent Angel Dream... where she was told... that a very tall lady... with auburn hair... and speaking in a foreign accent... would soon be coming to Bridgetown... and would be needing her help...!

And seating an astonished Laura... with another affectionate pat... on her hand... Mama Rosie briskly summoned the waiter... who brought her... the most delicious island fare... of a fresh... enormous Shrimp Cocktail Louis... her favorite... followed by platters... of various vegetable salads... and fresh tropical fruits... accompanied with freshly squeezed... tropical fruit juice concoctions...

And seeing that Laura was happy... Mama Rosie... very pleased... heartily lilted...:

"All for love...!"

... as she... a Heaven Sent Angel... walked away... and out of Laura's life...!
